Sailing towards the Golden Shore, climbing ten thousand Himalayas, the ancient Vedic way....

Concentration is the Arrow. Meditation is the Bow.

From: Eternity's Breath by Sri Chinmoy

Concentration is the Arrow.
Meditation is the Bow.

When you concentrate, you focus all your energies upon the
chosen phenomenon in order to unveil its mysteries.
When you meditate, you rise into a higher consciousness.

Concentration wants to penetrate into the object it strives for.
Meditation wants to live in the vastness of Silence.

I would like to republish here some of the gems you can find at the Sri Chinmoy Inspiration Group starting with this article written by Michael, not only most inspiring, but a real classic in Sri Chinmoy literature. I am reposting it here, as Inspiration-Group Classic.

Sri Chinmoy, a garlanded smile

Sri Chinmoy garlanded smile

This is such a beautiful, special photograph of Sri Chinmoy.

Guru is sitting on his chair, a garland of huge roses embracing his neck chest and lap, and that absolutely unique smile, an expression that our hearts know so well, infinite Love singling out - individual petal among a million flowers - the shyly concealed beholder of that smile divine.

Prayer-Songs for the New Year

These are the lyrics of songs Sri Chinmoy composed for the New Year, published in the songbook: In The New Year, A New Dawn.

New Year resolutions

I must thank Savyasachi for reminding me how much Guru likes to listen to our New Year resolutions. Sri Chinmoy enjoyed it so much when his students spoke about their new resolutions (both personal and manifestation wise) at those precious Christmas Trip functions.

So, here are some of my resolutions for the New Year (I know they may seem puny to you, but I rather be realistic and achieve those, than heroic and achieve little or none).

Christmas with Guru

At Christmas time we always had a special function, with many beautiful Christmas carols. I believe Silent Night is one of Sri Chinmoy's favourites. It is about silence and peace. We sang it so many times during Guru's Christmas trips.

May all of us find silence and peace in our hearts.

The last few times I listened to a new song composed and performed by our dear friend Parichayaka Hammerl I ended up with tears for the beauty of the landscape he is able to evoke, feeling how small I am in comparison to the genius living in this vast world.

Published here is track number 2 from his coming album.

A little book on Mother Mahasaraswati

The Mother aspect of the Supreme is described most beautifully by Sri Chinmoy and Sri Aurobindo.

Sri Chinmoy says:

The Mother Divine is the Divine in its feminine aspect. Very
often we say that it is easier to please our mother than our
father in the physical world. This truth is also applicable
in the spiritual world. True, the Mother and the Father do
everything in consultation with each other. But it is easier
for an aspirant to please the Mother Divine or an aspect of
the Mother Divine than to please Purusha, the masculine

our Lord Chinmoy - a poem

I finished writing this little poem, "our Lord Chinmoy" a few days ago. I started composing it on 11 November 2007, after a very vivid image came to me: a gray world, bereft of colours but blessed with deep memories, and a colour-full heaven, celebrating Guru's long awaited return.

Sri Chinmoy always spoke of Mother Mahasaraswati as the strongest connection we have to the the world of Poetry. If anything is good in this poem, I know it is only because of her grace and compassion.
