Sailing towards the Golden Shore, climbing ten thousand Himalayas, the ancient Vedic way....

To see the Truth as soon as possible, the mystic way

A page from Occultism And Mysticism, by Sri Chinmoy, was recently pointed out on the Sri Chinmoy Inspiration Group.

I read that book a few times in the past, yet that page struck me with renewed force. I was really surprised by how vividly the image of the mystic comes through. Just read these two paragraphs:

President Napolitano, Subimal, and (thin) Priyadarshan

in

Thank-you to Subimal for recovering and sending over this photo, took when I was sooo slim...

In the photo, the now President of the Italian Republic, Mr. Napolitano, is receiving Subimal and myself as Italian representatives of the World Harmony Run.

Bilbo the dog

in
Bilbo the dog
We know the word God is spelled G-o-d. Just reverse these
letters and they become d-o-g. God and dog go together.
In this case, 'dog’ means faithfulness. A dog, in the spiritual
sense, represents infinite faithfulness; it is symbolic of
God as faith. This is very significant.

Bilbo is my parents' dog. They named him after the Tolkien character because, like the hobbit, he was smallish but very brave, in a very wise, cautious, farmer-like sort of way.

Bilbo was no knight, and yet he could have been one, and an exceptionally good one as well.

The Mahasamadhi Comet

This comet is very special. It orbits the sun every seven years. A dramatic outburst increased the comet’s brightness by over a million times on October 24.

Just a day before, on October 23, the comet was 25,000 times too faint to see with just your eyes. Suddenly, 13 days after October 11, it has gotten about a million times brighter. Now you can just look up in the sky and see it, even inside a city.

Question: What is the significance of a comet?

Sri Chinmoy: When something most precious leaves the
earth-consciousness, then a comet will be visible. From the
spiritual point of view, when you see a comet, something very
significant has taken place on earth. When Sri Ramana Maharshi
passed on, everybody saw a comet in the South Indian sky.

Rintu sings - October 18th 2007

9:27 minutes (11.97 MB)

With Rintu's permission, here is the recording of his singing on October 18th 2007. I am sure it will console you as it consoled me, so much.

Rintu is the soul in soulful.

I miss you, Rintu. I hope we shall meet again soon.

The song of my life

Guru composed and taught this song on December 1st 2006.

I have been trying to learn Guru's songs. I simply adore all of them. But this one is the song of my life.

My Lord,
On my way to the Goal
If I see You not
No harm, no harm, no harm!
With a devotion-heart
I shall remember You
And Your Footsteps.

Sanskrit : the most remarkable and capable instrument of thought

I am currently reading about Kālidāsa, perhaps the greatest poet of all times, and about the language he used, Sanskrit.

Kālidāsa (कालिदास) was a Sanskrit poet and dramatist, his title Kavikulaguru (Preceptor of All Poets) bearing testimony to his stature. His name means, literally, "Kali's servant".

Sanskrit has been called the language of the Gods; the most perfect, the most sublime. It is definitely the most ancient one (Vedic Sanskrit dates back at least to the Mahabharata's age -- about 8000 b.C.).

Following is a striking excerpt about Sanskrit, by Sri Aurobindo.

Lord Ganesh - a favourite picture

Lord Ganesh - a favourite picture

This is, by far, my favourite picture of Lord Ganesh. This is the picture you can find in Kanan's store, The Garland of Divinity's Love in Jamaica, Queens.

The national Anthem of Bangladesh: Amar Shonar Bangla

This is one of my favourite songs by Tagore. It simply melts my heart, especially when (rare and precious times) Sri Chinmoy sings it. The lyrics are simply extraordinary.

The constantly ringing aspiration-prayer

[From The Master and the disciple, by Sri Chinmoy]

How can you play your role with aspiration?

Early in the morning, when you leave your bed, you can say to the Supreme,

Oh Supreme, make me unconditionally devoted to You so that I can serve You in Your own Way.
